August 24th, 2008 Meeting in Old Sanctuary
Hey Folks
We are now meeting in the "old santuary". Please come in the side doors of the sanctuary. The other doors go to the childrens area and we are not allowed access there.
We are in the Book of James this month.
Also, we are helping a young man in the 7th grade that goes to Western Middle school with school supplies, if you would like to donate Walmart cards, Office Depot cards, etc.
Kay also has access to some nice bookbags for $3.50 and $6.50 if you would like to buy some.
Cindy is planning for us to have a social soon, hopefully at a lake.
See you all Sunday.
Pastor Biggers was preaching on the Bride and Bridegroom yesterday.
I found this online, pretty good story.
I dreamt it was my wedding day. I was busy doing other things when, suddenly, I realized I hadn’t given myself enough time to get dressed for the ceremony.
The guests were gathered inside the church, and the groom was waiting for me at the front. Then, I could hear the piano music start to play. I panicked. I knew that after just a few songs, it would be my cue to walk down the aisle. But I wasn’t even in my wedding dress yet.
I looked down at the street clothes I had on and wondered if I could get by wearing them during the ceremony. But I knew I couldn’t do that: my groom was dressed in a tuxedo. So, I quickly put on my wedding dress. But, it was heavily wrinkled and looked shabby. I hadn’t bothered to have it steam cleaned beforehand.
Then, I looked down at my feet and realized I had forgotten to bring my fancy shoes. I would have to go barefoot. I hoped my long dress would cover my feet so no one would see them.
When I looked in the mirror, I saw my hair wasn’t fixed and my makeup wasn’t on. I had a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach. I knew my groom would be hurt to find out that I didn’t value our relationship enough to make myself look beautiful for him on our important day. I had put other things before him.
When I woke from the dream, I was sweating and my heart was racing. My own wedding, two years ago, made the dream seem even more personal and relevant to me. As I lay there thinking about the dream, I realized it had biblical symbolism.
Biblical Symbols of Marriage We, the church, are called the “bride of Christ.” God’s intimate relationship to His people is described — in both the Old and New Testaments — in terms of a marriage (examples: Isaiah 54:5-7; Hosea 2:19; Matthew 22:2-14; Ephesians 5:25-27, 32; Revelation 19:6-9). When Jesus returns for His bride, we will celebrate a great wedding feast with Him (Revelation 19:9).
The Groom expects that His bride will be spiritually ready for Him when He returns. Being ready includes:
• Being dressed in bright, clean, fine linen (which represents good deeds) Revelations 19:6-8
• Having no blemishes or wrinkles (being without sin) Ephesians 5:25-27
• Being a pure virgin (being doctrinally pure) who is devoted to Christ 2 Corinthians 11:2-4. The Bible compares the teachings of false prophets to spiritual adultery (Jeremiah 23:13-14).
• Having oil (representing the Holy Spirit) in our lamps, like the five wise virgins who were waiting for the bridegroom in Matthew 25:1-14
Even though this gets away from bridal imagery, all Christians are supposed to put on the full armor of God that is listed in Ephesians 6, which — as in my dream — includes shoes (shoes represent sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ with others, according to this passage).

Surprise Thank You for Cindy and Larry Aug 3rd
Wow!!!! Cindy and Larry were so surprised Sunday. We did a "Thank you " day for them. Many folks brought them cards, fishing lures, chocolate, gift certificates, and many other nice gifts to show them how much we really appreciate them. They are the greatest.
Thank you Larry and Cindy for your Spiritual Gift letting God use this in your life.
TEACHINIG: The ability to employ a logical, systematic approach to Biblical study with power and conviction, then to communicate that information in a clear, concise way that is relevant to the health and ministry of the Body and its members in such a way that others will learn (Acts 18:24-28; 20:20-21; 1 Corinthians 12:28; Ephesians 4:11-14).

July 13th, 2008 Pastor Jesse
We had a treat Sunday. Pastor Jesse 70 years young with Cerebral Palsy spoke to the congregations. What a blessing to see a man succeed when folks thought he would never, walk or talk, never be married or have children. I believe he said he has 5 grandchildren now.
WOW.
Don't forget next Sunday Gene "Bones" Boswell will be in our class to talk about his outreach ministry to the homeless, etc.
see you then

May 25th, 2008
Hope everyone had a great Memorial Weekend. God let the "Son" shine on us and let "His" beauty extend all around us this weekend. In SS class we had a "deep heart" sharing time concerning out youth. Many shared heart felt tears about where our youth are and what is in the future for them. Please be praying for our youth and the Love of Jesus to be moving rapidly upon them. Pray for a Great Leader to come forth that God is preparing and pray for Larry and Cindy as they take on a new challenge to help out the youth this summer. Pray for other adults to come along side them to help them in whatever needs to be done.
See you next Sunday.
See you next Sunday.

Our study is on 2 Peter chapter 3: 1-18.
Verse 10...But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.
Don't forget that the Whitewater Rafting trip is coming up. Get in touch with Bunny Mann if you want to go.

May 11th, 2008 HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!
Happy Mothers Day to all you who are moms. I am sure some of you may have others thoughts on mothers day. Could be some hurts in your heart. So I pray that God will bless you and show you the never ending love that only He can give.
In the Book of Ruth, God shows us many character traits of Ruth as an example of a Godly woman. She was a caretaker, believer, hard worker, reaper, obedient, blessed, kind, woman of excellence, trusting, provider, name raiser, and conceiver. May God Bless you today!!

Sunday May 4th
Hey Everyone

We got the honors of having Rhonda Evans lead our class yesterday. She played some country songs by different country artist. I believe some of these singers were Christians. We had a discussion afterwards about each song and what it meant to us. Thank you Rhonda for your diligence to serve our Lord and Savior.
Two of God's faithful servants are George and Marianne Baskaron. George helps pick up folks that don't have a way to church. Marianne helps at the front desk to help folks find there way around or to give out info on our church. Thank you George and Marianne for being a great servant and following Jesus example. We love you two.
Also, Michelle in our class is the first recipient of a computer given by Network a Blessing. She and her little girl Jade were very excited and very greatful.
